And the Winner of “Mitch Landrieu Dance Machine” is…

Here are the Top 5 designs from Storyville Apparel's "Mitch Landrieu Dance Machine" tee shirt design contest.

Who knew that the Mayor of New Orleans had the moves like Jagger?

Congratulations to Megan Nolan for winning $500 in our “Mitch Landrieu Dance Machine” tee shirt design contest. Megan finished in a close second place with this design in our previous “Animal Kingdom” contest, but this time around Megan is taking home first prize.

This is Megan’s second consecutive Top 5 finish, and her first contest win. The very first batch of “Dancing Mitch Landrieu” tees will be printed this week at the Storyville Print Shop. Click here to pre-order yours. Ten percent of all sales of this tee shirt will be donated to Trombone Shorty’s Horns for Schools” project.

We’d also like to recognize four other designers that round out our Top 5 for this contest. Allison Dugas-Behan’sMitch Came to Dance” is her first Top 5 finish, although she previously came close to finishing in the Top 5 with this design.

Bucky VanGeffen came in third place with “Toulouse.” This is Bucky’s second Top 5 finish. Two of Bucky’s previous contest entries have already become actual Storyville tees — “Roast Beef & Root Beer” and “Treme.”

In fourth place was Matt Glynn’s Michael Jackson-esque “Mitch” design. This is Matt’s second Top 5 finish. Matt previously won our “Food Glorious Food” contest with his “Been Ye” design, and this tee shirt is now sold in our Louisiana shops.

Rounding out the Top 5 was “Stayin’ Alive” from the design team extraordinaire of Kimberly Robinson and Colleen Keogh. This prolific duo has won two of our first seven contests with the designs “Miss New Orleans” and “Austin Armadillo.” Including the contest wins, Kimberly and Colleen have finished in the Top 5 a record six times.

We’d like to salute all of the contest participants, and encourage them to participate in our next contest, which coincidentally launches today. Our eighth contest, “Storyville Kids,” is live and features a $1,000 top prize. This two-week-long contest will run through Friday, July 6.

The goal of Contest #8 is to generate designs for infant one pieces, toddler tees and youth tees to be sold at our stand-alone Storyville Kids shop on Magazine Street as well as in our Austin, Baton Rouge and Metairie shops, which offer both adult and kids clothing. We’ve already received some terrific entries for the “Storyville Kids” contest. Click here to see them all.

Our ninth contest will be a shout-out to the Capital of Cajun Country, the City of Lafayette. This contest will run for five days only (July 9 – 13) and will feature a $500 top prize.

And we’ve got something big planned for Contest #10. Stay tuned for details.
